Manchester Police Explorer Post 077 is a Learning for Life Program chartered through the Boyscouts of America, Connecticut Rivers Council. Our explorers are an elite group of teens who are required to be drug-free, violence-free and maintain a good academic record. They are subjected to a criminal background investigation prior to acceptance into the program. They are required to abide by the rules and regulations set forth in our handbook, the laws and ordinances of the Town of Manchester, State of Connecticut, and the United States of America. They must uphold the Code of Conduct and the Mission Statement of the Manchester Police Department.
Our post is sponsored by the Manchester, Connecticut Police Department. Our advisors are Manchester Police Officers, former police officers who either retired or resigned in good standing, as well as parents of police explorers. |
|
Civilian advisors are required to submit to a criminal background investigation. To be eligible to become a civilian advisor, you must be a former police officer, parent, former explorer, or a graduate of the Manchester Police Department Citizen Police Academy. Manchester police explorers are given the opportunity to learn about law enforcement from certified police officers in a “hands-on” atmosphere. Click here on “Programs” and “Training” to see more of what we do! Explorers must be at least 15 years of age, (or 14 years of age and graduated from the eighth grade). Explorers are eligible to remain in the post until their 21st birthday. |
